What Does A Quality Laser Cutting Supplier Look Like?

When it comes to the manufacture of complex parts and components at SSC Laser, we like to pride ourselves in offering a complete quality service to all our customers. We want to be your one-stop-shop for everything laser cutting and folding. We have the most up-to-date cutting-edge technology with machines that can manufacture parts and components regardless of complexity.

Flat or Folded, Tube or Box Section, SSC Laser are the company that you can rely on.

Laser cutting isn’t hard to find, but what is hard to find is a sub-contractor like SSC Laser Cutting, who go the extra mile for their customers, who have cutting edge systems, who have the highest quality standards and in turn, can save engineering companies, fabricators and manufacturers time and money.

So what does quality laser cutting look like? At SSC Laser we believe that everything should be under one roof, giving our customers the best option for all their needs in one place.

Laser Cutting

When it comes to laser cutting, you want to be working with a sub-contractor, who can not only provide the above but can provide an end-to-end service that is second to none. We’re not just talking about the finished product, that should go without saying, a quality laser cutting sub-contractor can help you at every stage of the manufacturing process, we can take the pressures of the production stage off your shoulders so you can focus on other elements of your business. Once you place an order, we want you to have the trust that you will receive exactly what you want, when you want it. That’s what we believe in, and that’s what we are here for. From the very first sales visit, phone call, email or website live chat, we make sure that every customer is looked after at every stage of the process.

We have a bank of experienced and knowledgeable Business Development Managers to visit your premises and an internal sales team of Customer Sales and Support Advisors, who can expertly advise on how we can help your business and then process a fast and accurate quotation.

Once we are successful in winning an order from the quotation, the quotation can be confirmed to an order in the touch of a button, where you will then be dealing with our expert CAD team who will make the magic happen, developing and adding the necessary technology to your profiles to ensure you receive exactly what you have ordered.

The job is then sent through to production at one of our manufacturing sites. Your job will then be tracked through our live MPR system, so we know what stage of the production process your job is at, at any time of the day.

Your job will have a first off inspection after the first cut to ensure the part is correct to drawing and that the quality is perfect. We then do periodic inspections to ensure that the part is cutting exactly the same as the first off. This process is followed regardless of whether the part is cut on the CO2 lasers, Fiber lasers, Tube laser or a part that is folded on our press brakes.

Once all elements of your job are complete and updated on the MRP system, it then becomes available for our despatch and transport department to wrap the products securely and ensure all paperwork and test certificates (if required) are ready, then they do a final check and despatch your goods to your door on time and in full.

We don’t just stop at delivery. Our Customer Sales and Support team will be in touch post delivery to make sure that everything was to the standard you expected and in the minute chance that there is something that needs remedying, we will do this quickly and efficiently. We have a great second serve! If we get something wrong, we do everything in our power to put this right.

Non-Ferrous Laser Cutting

With the additions of our 10kW fiber lasers, non-ferrous cutting just got a whole lot better. SSC Laser has genuinely become the one-stop-shop as the laser cutting sub-contractor of choice for a range of industries. We offer services our competition don’t, so we fully differentiate ourselves from many other laser cutting suppliers. Stainless Steel and Non-Ferrous material can now be cut thicker than ever and we can also cut highly reflective materials such as copper and brass that many companies with purely CO2 lasers will struggle to do.

Machinery

We pride ourselves on the fact that we have always invested heavily in the latest equipment to ensure that the quality of our work is of the highest standard. With our flatbed lasers, we have a long-standing relationship with Bystronic AG. Being Swiss built they are extremely reliable and robust machines, and they are always at the forefront of the latest cutting technology. They also provide amazing service should any machines ever encounter any breakdowns, meaning we can be back up and running with minimum downtime, to reduce the impact on you, the customer. Alongside this, should we ever get breakdowns, dealing with SSC means this isn’t a problem, we can transfer your work to be cut at our other site at the touch of a button, meaning your order will still be dealt with promptly and efficiently.

Similar to our relationship with Bystronic, we are in a similar position with our Tube Laser. With the tube laser, we have a strong relationship with Italian manufacturer  BLM Adige, who are similar to Bystronic in being leaders in their field. Renowned for their state-of-the-art material handling around the laser source , we can really maximise process time, repeatability and efficiency, which in turn benefits our customers. The tube laser will also process bars up to 8,500mm long.

Press Braking

Press braking is the process of bending sheet metal via the use of a machine that is capable of performing complex folds in an incredible, quick amount of time. As with our lasers, we use world leading manufacturers, Amada and Bystronic to provide our Press Brakes, so we know we have the best available machinery and support in the market. The Bystronic Expert 40 is an electric plug-in machine, which enables it to process parts more quickly and efficiently than its hydraulic counterparts and can be moved around the shop floor to speed up processing efficiencies.

Not only do our press braking machines operate in record time, but they are also able to offer fantastic flexibility, to improve on our already high-quality service, when it comes to efficiency and processing time. Press Braking is used to produce parts for a wide range of industries. From architectural and construction to engineering and transport, whatever the requirement, the team at SSC Laser has the machinery and expertise to cover it.

Laser Scanning

You’ve got a component or part, but you don’t have the original technical drawing it was manufactured from? You could spend a lot of time and effort trying to either find a replacement, the original technical drawing or find someone to attempt to create the drawing from scratch. All of these options take time and in the fast-paced world of manufacturing, can impact your business regardless of the route you decide to take.

Sometimes it is an impossible task and if you can’t find the original anywhere and have hit a roadblock, what do you do? Well, what you may not be aware of, is that you needn’t spend all that time and effort attempting any of the above. With the state-of-the-art laser scanning system at SSC Laser, we can create new electronic drawings from a scan of your original 2D component or part.

Once we have taken a detailed scan of your component or part, we can convert the scan into an electronic technical drawing that can be used to manufacture a brand new component, that when manufactured will be precisely the same as the original. After your component is manufactured, we can use the laser scanner to compare the original against the new component to make sure that it meets the high-quality standards that we hold all of our projects to.

Packaging and Labelling

It doesn’t matter how good a laser cut part is, this can all be ruined through poor packaging and labelling. Poor packaging can result in parts sliding into one-another, scratching other parts, breaking through packaging during transportation and parts being lost. At SSC Laser we ensure all packaging is done the same high standard regardless of which of our sites your parts were manufactured. We use shrink wrap and a heat gun to ensure consistent, high-quality packaging on any pallets and we know we can trust to get your parts to you in the same way they left us. All boxes, bags, pallets have labels printed with images of your parts, part number, order number and the customer name to help ease identification when you receive your order.

Laser cutting isn’t something that is easy or quick to do. It takes years of experience and skill to be able to produce precision components to the highest of quality standards. With this in mind, when you come to choose a laser cutting sub-contractor, you should look to SSC Laser to become your go-to-guys for all your steel cutting services. With everything under one roof, we have the technology, skills and staff to meet the demanding needs of the UK’s manufacturing industries. Anybody can buy a laser cutting machine and become a laser cutting sub-contractor, however, as previously stated, SSC Laser has 19 years of Laser Cutting experience, knowledge and know-how to ensure you get a business partner you can trust.

If you are looking for a laser cutting sub-contractor who can deliver quality, precision laser cut components, who have the highest regard for quality and control, and can provide a solution under one roof, then contact us today.
