The Importance of Quality Packaging

The Importance of Quality Packaging

Here at SSC, our selling proposition is firmly centred around giving our customers the best quality and service in UK laser cutting.

One aspect of our selling proposition that we frequently receive compliments about is the quality and consistency of our packaging.  We are really proud of the standard of our packaging as every customer order we receive is different, requiring thorough consideration of how best to wrap and pack the parts to keep them safe and secure during shipping.  We believe that the work we put in to make sure those parts arrive in perfect condition is really important to our customers and, after all, our primary aim is to have highly satisfied customers who come to us because they know they can rely on us to meet or exceed their expectations.

Some recent comments we have received from both new and long-standing customers are as follows:

  • “..delighted with the quality of packaging and the level of service, will definitely be placing further orders.”
  • “..the best packed parts we’ve seen from any laser cutter.”
  • “..really impressed with the overall service but particularly with the standard of the packaging.”
  • “..excellent packaging and labelling of parts.”

Our Packaging Process

Our choice of what packaging to use starts as soon as we understand the nature and quantity of the parts included on a customer order.  We look to choose an appropriate combination of packing, wrapping and securing materials to minimise the possibility of any parts being lost or damaged during transit.

Some of the things that we do, depending on circumstances, are:

  • Full labelling of all parts
  • Separation of individual parts with paper, foam dividers or other media where necessary to protect the surface finish of the parts
  • Use of various bags, boxes, cartons and pallets depending on the size and quantity of parts being shipped
  • Strong banding and pallet collars keep parts secure and minimise movement on the pallet
  • High quality shrink-wrap polythene helps keep everything in place and provides protection from the weather
  • “Do Not Stack” cones are affixed to all pallets containing folded or fragile parts.

We are always happy to talk to customers or potential customers about our packaging standards.
